Ribs with Lime and Ginger (Crockpot)

Ingredients
  • 2 packages of duBreton back ribs
  • 8 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) chopped fresh ginger
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) soya sauce
  • 375 ml (1 ½ cup) ginger ale
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) honey or maple syrup
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) lime juice
  • 10 ml (2 c. tsp.) lime zest
  • 2 ml (1/2 tsp.) fresh ground pepper
  • 10 ml (2 tsps.) cornstarch
Preparation steps
  1. Cut ribs between each bone and separate individually.
  2. Combine all other ingredients in the crockpot.
  3. Stir and add ribs.
  4. Cook at low for 4 to 5 hours or at high for 3 hours.
  5. If desired, transfer cooking juices to a sauce pan and simmer until reduced to half.
  6. Dilute cornstarch in a small amount of water and add to mixture in order to thicken.
  7. Pour over ribs and serve.
